Momentous Day!

So the last two days have been record setting in our household! My son is actually napping during the day for more than 30 minutes at a time!!

(knock on wood)

This has allowed me to (drumroll please) TAKE A SHOWER before 9pm! It's wonderful! And he's falling asleep with Daddy at night on the couch instead of having to fall asleep nursing in bed. Falling asleep nursing wasn't the bad part-it was the fact that he was getting fussy at 8:30, and it meant I had to go to bed when I had 500000 other things to do to prepare for the next day. After I took my shower today, I even had time to finish up those thank you notes! Finally!

Tomorrow night is my second night back at work and wow do I dread it. It's not the working that I dread because I enjoy my profession! I simply hate leaving my baby. Don't get me wrong though. I realize how blessed I am that God worked things out in our life to allow me to only work one day a week and I'm so grateful. But it doesn't change how hard it is to walk out the door at 6pm and leaving him for 13 hours! And I know he'll be just fine! It upsets me so much, and him not at all. :) At least I have something to look forward to throughout the night, right? (besides sleep!) I'm praying Drew continues his streak of nap taking tomorrow so I can sneak in some much needed rest before work. Let's pray it's an easy night. (Yeah right, it's Friday!).

On a totally different note, did anyone else see Gov. Palin's speech? WOW. I know I'm behind, but I wasn't able to watch that night due to the baby. I caught it on YouTube 2 nights or so ago. I was blown away and so impressed. I love this lady!

Still a few things to do before hitting the sack for the night. (Is that just a MS term?) Hope you all have a God blessed day! Cast all your cares on Him because He cares for you!

  1. Isn't a sleeping baby such an awesome thing!?!?! One, you get to sleep yourself (or get 500000 things done). And two, there's nothing like creeping into the nursery to watch your baby sleep! So peaceful!

Congrats! You and Andrew are doing such a great job!
