Quest of the "Somewhat" Frugal Wife

Seeing as how my new lot in life is to be a somewhat frugal "mostly stay-at-home" mom, my biggest job after taking care of Drew will be managing our money better. One of the ways I'm attempting to do this is by playing the CVS/Walgreens game. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, you basically use Walgreens and CVS coupons along with manufacturer coupons and savings rewards clubs to get almost free or completely free stuff. We're talking batteries, milk, toilet paper, toothpaste...you know, the things you actually NEED. The math adding up to the free stuff is WAY beyond my thinking capacity (I'd always prefer diagramming a sentence instead of performing long division), I just stalk other frugal moms' blogs and copy their ideas. ;)

Thanks to Lori (who needs a blog) for giving me websites to get me hooked on these deals! If you're a mom looking for free diapers (or would like to get them for a friend....like.....i don't know......ME?) check out this link! My goal is to try it out this week. I'll let you know if it works!

Also, at Target this week you can get a 2 POUND box of cereal (Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Honey Nut Cheerios, Fruity Pebbles, etc) for 4.99. You can find Cheerios coupons for 50-60 cents off just about everywhere so you can get a 2 lb box of cereal for 4.50. People--that's a deal these days! Plus they have $7 worth of coupons on the back of each box. This purchase literally made my day. Silly, I know.

Check out Baby Cheapskate for more deals and printable coupons!

Do you know about the grocery game? If not, read my cousin's blog post.

Buying in bulk will probably be more of a player once Drew starts eating table food, but Kelly and I have recently "re-discovered" Costco. Kelly can give you the specifics I'm sure but there's definitely something to shopping at Sam's Club and/or Costco when you're buying for 3 or more.

I know, this little tip is absolutely useless to you at the moment . . . but you'll thank me in 12-15 months!!!!
