Random Thoughts on a Sunday

1. Heard my little girl's first real laugh yesterday as she was trying to decide if she was going to cry because she was mad or laugh because her daddy was being silly...so it ended up being a belly laugh. So sweet!

2. I could not care less about the Super Bowl.

3. I'm a first timer with all this "hand out Valentine's" stuff for kids, so I just realized I gotta jump on that for next week.

4. I'm extra thankful for dry shampoo as it kept me from being incredibly late for worship and class this morning.

5. I'm even more thankful for women at church who volunteer to hold my sweet girl so I can eat with 2 hands.

6. Today's 50 degree temp was just what we needed! We strolled around Pier 1 and found tons of stuff that we'll never buy....but it was fun to imagine.

7. I'm looking forward to our first playdate in a long time. It's this Wednesday with some friends and their girls....all in our pajamas. That's what I'm talkin' about! I don't even have to get dressed.

8. Laundry day is tomorrow. Didn't I JUST finish putting last week's away? No, wait. There's still a basket of dedicates left that never got folded.

9. O'Charley's has officially taken catfish off their menu. I found out today when I went to O'Charley's specifically for the catfish and was told it was no longer available. They should announce things like that on the news or something. I was crushed.

10. I'm being spiritually stretched at challenged in class/worship on Sundays and Wednesdays in ways I've never been stretched. And I'm liking it.

11. I'm in need of flowy shirts that hide this "I had a baby 12 weeks ago" pudge. Bring on spring fashions.

12. My little tried and true point-and-shoot camera is almost dead. And I'm having a card time reconciling spending a lot of money on a new one!

13. My 2 1/2 year old has regressed in potty training. *sigh* And his poopy diapers are WORSE. And DISGUSTING. I'm talking....I'm gagging. So nasty. We must remedy this soon.

14. We're watching Prison Break: Season 1, and I'm hooked. Scratch that. WE'RE hooked.

15. Saturday night is date night. I think I'm gonna count down the hours!

Guess What? Random Time!

1. Teething + allergies + traveling away from home for several days= cranky, clingy little boy who doesn't want to go to bed on his own. We've gotta get this worked out before Hannah gets here!

2. Hannah's room decor is making a little progress. The bedskirt is 95% done (gotta add some pom pom fringe because I ran out on the last end piece--argh), the curtain is started (woo hoo!), and I have plans in my head. Yeah, you probably thought I was gonna say I had a lot more done than that, but having plans finalized in my head is a major ordeal these days; I can't seem to make up my mind about anything! I'll be repainting an armoire (sp?) of mine white to use for her clothing storage. (I say I'm going to paint it white. I should paint it white. We'll see if I actually take the time to sand and paint that thing in the 502 degree heat. If one furniture piece doesn't match, I'm not gonna have a stroke over it. And that's a big deal for me.)

3. Drew's room is also coming along beautifully....in my head. I've narrowed down what furniture will be leaving his room and what will be coming inside his room. Again, a big deal to have that nailed down.

4. We're building Drew a twin sized bed from Knock Off Wood. No, we've never built a thing in our lives with wood. In fact, wood scares me because splinters scare me. But who am I kidding? Andrew will be building this bed because they don't make splinter proof gloves. And my garage isn't air conditioned. I'm gonna admit here that I'm an indoor sissy.

5. Tonight I went out on a limb and put a little Sprite in Drew's sippy cup for dinner as a treat. Yeah, not my smartest move. Won't happen again. He was WIRED. Probably added to our bedtime distress tonight.

6. I'm working on Drew several appliqued tshirts for this fall/winter. I found a few ideas on Etsy, and I'm gonna see if I can copy them. So far my list includes: Frankenstein (already started), Rudolph, Pumpkin, monogrammed letter shirt, Turkey, and a Tie shirt (I've done this one before--great for starters!). Whew! He's gonna be one cute little dude!

7. Consignment sales are coming up! Do you know how happy these make me? They're about as great as Black Friday. Only maybe better because I don't have to be anywhere at 4am in the frigid cold. Mommy's Secret is this Thursday and Lil Blessings is in about 2 weeks. I can't wait to rack up on stuff for Drew & Hannah. I'm making out my list of things I really need so I don't go nuts in there. I'm gonna be smart and take something to lay my loot in this time. What better thing to take than Drew's stroller? It's practically brand new because he absolutely hates the thing. So I figure I'll get a few bucks worth out of it.

8. My son wants to potty train on so many days. He'll say he needs to teetee and runs to the bathroom. I throw him up on the potty and he gets so distracted. He wants to play with the toilet paper and the toilet lid. He asks me to name off items, namely the plunger and toilet scrub brush. He wants to turn the fan on. Then he wants to know if he'll get an M&M for sitting there. We end up sitting there for a good 10 minutes before my legs fall asleep and I have to force him down. However, 3 times he's actually done a little somethin' somethin' in the potty! Silly boy. I have NO desire to potty train him yet, but he seems to be interested in leaning that way. Time will tell!

9. Where art thou, fall? I sweated walking to my mailbox today. And a spider nearly got on my foot. I did a crazy woman dance trying to get away as a car drove by--probably laughing hysterically at me.

10. FYI: If you spray just the outside of your house for bugs/spiders, guess where they're going to go? INSIDE your house. We are learning this the hard way this week. EWWWW.

Gracious. Are you worn out after that list? I know my brain feels better to get all that out there!

Weekend Recap

We attended the wedding reception of our friends, Heather & Brad, last night. It was fun to dress up and see people with whom I used to work. Made me miss it....just for a minute. ;)

I've gained approximately 8-9 pounds so far during this pregnancy, and do you know where 90% of it has gone? It's all in my face. You lucky people who gain first in your thighs or rear or somewhere hideable!

I couldn't find one picture from last night that I was really happy with, so you got this one. I mean, it's not like I can crop out my face. I tried the "slimming tool" on Picnik.com, but it just made me look less pregnant....and my face stayed the same. *sigh* And when you take a picture next to someone who's tanner, thinner, and taller, the slimming tool just ain't gonna help you. Note to Heather...I'm not taking any more pictures with you. Ever. Or at least until you're pregnant and I'm not. ;)

I've been wanting to add scripture to our walls for the longest time. Etsy.com has a ton of cute (and very affordable) pieces, but I happened to run across one in Hobby Lobby 3 months ago when I had a 40% coupon and snatched it up. So after 3 months of sitting on my nightstand, begging me to forgo my fear that I'd mess up my wall, we finally put it up yesterday.

I LOVE IT! Get ready....we're about to have wall words every.where.

I'm actually considering one like this maybe for Hannah's room (only the script will be smooth and not grainy):

On totally unrelated news, IT IS HOT.

The heat index today is 113 with unbreathable air. Are any of you experiencing this as well?

I almost took one of those battery operated misting fans to church with me this morning because I resemble a sweating pig when I step foot out of the house.

Thanks to this weather, our little man has been spending a good bit of time in kiddie pools & sprinklers. He's not complaining!

Today I did four straight hours of cleaning. My dad asked me if I was that bored. I've never been so bored that I couldn't find something more fun to do than clean, so it must be hormones. I cleaned my washer and dryer, the return air vents, kitchen baseboards, kitchen chairs, and front of all my appliances. I even broke out an extended arm tool for my vacuum and got in the crevices of my laundry room. See? It wasn't everyday stuff.....seriously, return air vents?! Anywho--I feel better!

And that concludes our weekend, friends! Hope your time was as blessed as ours!

The Random 10 Returns

1. Elmo songs are stuck in my head. "Lalalala, lalalala, Elmo's world!" On a good note, it's something other than Veggie Tales. Thank goodness!

2. I could compete with any man in an all-you-can-eat contest right now. It must be physically impossible for me to feel full.

3. I passed my glucose test yesterday with flying colors! Woo hoo! What I learned from last time as advice to you other preggos: do not drink a coke & eat a large meal at 11:45 the night before your test. Unless you wanna take that 3 hour test...

4. Andrew seems to possibly be developing a sore throat. Let's hope we don't see ulcers. Ugh....We are ready for this virus to be GONE!

5. Drew has taken a turn for the worst at night when going to bed. It's becoming a nightly battle!

6. He's also decided to be overly dramatic each time he gets told "no." It's lovely. All day long. ALL. DAY. LONG.

7. Ever had costochondritis? (Where you push your chest and it hurts, take a deep breath in and it hurts?) It's not fun, and it's painful. But it's worse when you're pregnant because you can't take antiinflammatories.

8. I think I am the only person in Southaven who eats Steak n Shake chili when the heat index is 110. It's even better with an order of fries. Mmmm....now I'm hungry!

9. Today is free McAlister's sweet tea day. I've had every intention of satisfying my southern rooted tea craving, but now it's 6pm and I look like poo, so I don't wanna go inside. Lightbulb: they need a drivethru! (Why, yes, I could make my own. However, the last 2 times I've made a pitcher of tea, it tasted metallic-y. Ick!)

10. Last night I was so tired and finally crawled into bed. Drew randomly woke up from his sleep (very rare) so I went in there to rock him and quiet him down. All I could think about was how tired I was....as in-I wanted to cry I was so tired. And then I remembered: I'm about to feel that way every day for months! What have I done?!

All I've Got Left is Random....

1. I mopped my shower clean the other day because I didn't wanna get on my hands and knees to scrub it. Yes, it worked. Yes, I'm going to need another mop head for the kitchen now. Totally worth it when all my nail polish remained unchipped at the end of that gruesome chore. On the other hand, I think our visitors might wonder why Drew continually tries to take the mop into the shower...

2. Did I mention the other day that I'm not really that hungry most of the time? Why did I do that to myself? We all knew that once I said that I would forever be unfulfilled at each meal. It's 10:30 pm and all I want is a steak and baked potato. I would even settle for lobster chowder. That's gonna be pretty hard to come by tonight.

3. I also told one of my friends the other week that Drew never had a "for no obvious reason screaming problem." I'm eating my words with butter on top. He screams. He squeals. He shrills. I hide. I cry. I want to die.

4. My tolerance for noise is quite low these days. It's not fitting well with the above issue.

5. I find out what the gender of this baby is 2 weeks from today. Woo hoo!!! I have a girl name picked out. I have no idea what a boy will be named. Nice, huh?

6. I am 25 years old and do not make my bed on most days. I once read in like the 9th grade that it's better to not make your bed because it gives dust (or something) a chance to escape and your sheets to "breathe" and cuts down on the amount of microscopic bugs in your bed. Apparently, that stuck with me. See, now that you've read it, you don't have to make your bed either....for health purposes.

7. My neighbor was laughing at me tonight while I had Drew outside. I was marching around, swatting bugs, scratching mosquito bites, running after Drew, barking commands, and talking on the phone. I'm a one woman circus!

8. How am I supposed to take my child outside when it's already 90 degrees at 9:00am? We need to find more inside entertainment.

9. What does it mean when you constantly dream you have a ton of assignments for school with not enough time to complete them or that you walk into your classroom to discover there's a test being given you forgot to study for. I dream this all the time! Any dream analysts out there who want to decode that for me?

10. I have a birthday party set for this Saturday with: no gifts bought, no gifts wrapped, no cake considered, and no food menu. Looking good, huh? Guess I should jump on that instead of continue to ramble on here..... ;)

Yet Another Random 10

My flight of ideas is so random today that I have no earthly way of stringing them all together to make them sound even semi-related. You'll see what I mean!

1. I think I may be the only person in North Mississippi who knows how properly to work a 4-way stop. Do you ever feel that way? I think we should scrap the current MS state driver's test (which included this question on my test, by the way: What do you do if you are stalled on the side of the road and need assistance? Uh....use a cell phone? Turn on your hazards? Flag someone down? Wrong! Tie a white cloth to your antenna. Hope your undies are white that day cause apparently hot pink or zebra stripes won't work). What should we replace this current test with? A test on how to work a 4 way stop. It would eliminate 90% of drivers, I do believe.

2. This is what happens when I take Drew to the store with me these days:
  1. Put Drew in basket
  2. Instruct Drew to sit down multiple times
  3. Allow other shoppers to be tortured while Drew yells "Bawl!!!! Bawl!!!!" at every round object he sees.
  4. Fight Drew for the debit machine pen at check out as he cries for a ball while convincing him he still has 3 balls in the truck, 1 in his hand, and 15 in my living room floor.
3. We went to a couple's shower last night and had so much fun. We met some very sweet new people who I fully intend on friending (did you know friend is now a verb?) on Facebook and looking at every single one of their pictures.

4. I am so ready to feel this baby kick and flutter around inside me. I felt Drew at 17 weeks and expected to feel this one sooner. Seeing as how I'm 16 1/2 weeks now, I'm hoping to feel this little baby soon!

5. Cute shoes are not always worth the blisters that follow. My feet asked me to include that one.

6. We have Drew's birthday party getting closer. We're doing a primary colored polka dot theme. Andrew said it was "girly," but I said next year he'll be requesting some Disney theme so I'm rolling with this "easy to decorate around" theme this year. It won't scar him for life. ;)

7. I was signing Drew up for VBS today and was told Drew would be able to go to the 2 year old class. The nice lady said, "Do you think he's ready?" "What do you mean?" I responded. "To be in a class," she said. "Does that mean he has to sit still in a chair?" I asked, sensing the response. "Yes," she said. "Then, no," I said. I laughed at the thought of those poor teachers trying to get Drew to sit in a chair and color something or listen to a story! Not happenin'!

8. Do any of you do TV or radio ratings? Right now I'm getting letters from Nelson and Arbitron. They are so easy and send me anywhere from $2-$30 just for filling out information and opinions on TV and radio. They probably get more than an earful, but they keep asking me!

9. It's 95 degrees and barely June. Fall, anyone? I'll just admit...I think summer is my least favorite season. Bugs, sweat, and heat equate to no fun for this girl. Throw into the mixture a little boy who LOOOOOOVES the outside, and we're a not-so-great mix. However, I'm trying to sacrifice. I get up and get him outdoors right after breakfast and come fall onto the floor of the air conditioned house in an hour.

10. I'm about to work on a 16 week pregnancy post....stay tuned. :)

Another Random 10

1. Drew has been angelic today! I love days like this where he minds well, plays independently, and snuggles on the couch. The fact that it was pouring down rain most of the day helped since he wasn't whining constantly to go "ow-side."

2. On the down side, we are battling eating issues with our little dude. His dad and I have ZERO eating issues so I'm not sure where this is coming from. ;) It's certainly not his mother's genes! But seriously, last night I was PUMPED because he ate a small amount of mac & cheese. Today at lunch, he nearly gagged when I touched a bite of M&C to his mouth. Today he's eaten: a piece of bread, 4 bites of muffin, and a bite of Andrew's dessert. That's it. No feeling bad, teething, fever, etc. He just doesn't wanna eat. I keep telling myself he's not going to blow away.

3. I have an incredible husband, if I haven't said that recently. As I type this on the couch, he's playing grocery store and kitchen with Drew. :) And Drew is laughing so hard he's going to get hiccups!

4. I was lying on the couch today (sense today's theme?) while Andrew & Drew were in the bathtub. All of a sudden I heard, "Mommy!!!! MOMMY!!! Come quick!!! Mommy!!!! Hurry!!!" I jumped off the couch and ran into the bathroom. Andrew said, "We've got a code brown! Code brown!!" There was Drew standing in the tub while Andrew was scooping poop out of the water! I thought it was so funny that he left Drew standing in the poop infested waters while he took out the toys and scooped poop. But I was SO impressed that he pooper scooped without complaints! That's one great dad!

5. Back to my lying-on-the-couch theme....I have felt blah today. Ever had one of those days? It's almost 7pm and I'm still in my pajamas from this morning, but with an added layer because I'm cold. I've also had 2 blankets on me most of the afternoon to fight the chill. Nothing sounds good to eat and my indigestion is killer. One yucky day in a sea of a lot of easy pregnancy days; I really can't complain I guess!

6. Today it is 55 degrees and windy. Wednesday the high is 90. So goes MS weather this time of year.

7. I have planned for months on throwing Drew a pirate themed party this year for his birthday. After I got most of the details worked out (including piratey food names), I believe I've changed my mind on the theme. See, he really doesn't even know what a pirate is, number 1. Number 2, this theme would be so much more fun when he's 3 or 4 and his imagination is more developed. Number 3, he likes cars (and anything with a wheel) and Veggie Tales. So we might do one of those two themes, or we might just stick with a primary colors themed party with tons of balloons. *sigh* A two year old's party isn't supposed to be stressful, right?

8. Less than 8 weeks until we head to Branson with a bunch of senior citizens (no mom and dad, not you. All those other old folks.)....and I couldn't be more excited!

9. Someone special has a birthday on Wednesday in our little family. A special post will be in the works for him....

10. Andrew & I are celebrating our six year (seriously!) anniversary this weekend. Our actual anniversary isn't until next weekend (the 22nd), but we've decided to celebrate this weekend. Mom & Dad are keeping Drew overnight for us while we go out to have fun. We've both decided we want to catch a Redbirds game Friday night since that's something we wouldn't normally do with Drew. I'm excited!

Random List of Random Thoughts

1. As of tomorrow, I'll be down in the 100's instead of the 200's for my baby countdown! Woo hoo! We celebrate even the little steps around here.

2. Speaking of celebrating, I want to campaign for a National Milk Day. Is that already in existence? I love my glass of chocolate milk at night that settles my food from 10 hours earlier back into my stomach. Milk--does my stomach good.

3. I've come to realize that one of my gifts--we'll call it that instead of shortfalls--is coming up with an idea and planning something. I love to plan every detail, research the heck out of an idea, etc. The problem is I often have a problem with carrying the idea through completely (for one reason or another), but planning, I love....

4. Right along those lines, I'm thinking of getting together a small group of close friends & their kids for a playdate like once every 2 weeks. That wouldn't be so often that it's annoying, but not so far apart that everyone forgets everyone else's kid's name between meet up times. It'd be simple. Bring a fingerfood. Bring your kid. Wear your sweats and a tshirt if you like.

5. I'm also really wanting to delve into Beth Moore's new book, "So Long Insecurity." I've just read so many things about it that make me think--"that's SO me!"

6. Right along those lines, I got to thinking a Bible study around that book might be fun to do with those aforementioned moms. However, once every 2 weeks will make this book either a slow read or something really drawn out. Oh and the fact that we'll have 42 kids running around with snotty noses who will be taking each other's apple slices won't be too conducive to a deep discussion. So no go....

7. So THAT got me thinking....what about an online Bible study with these same women? What if we all got the book and set up our discussion on a message board or thread on a private FB page? Then we could read the assigned chapter every week and discuss inside the message board whenever it was convenient for each person. You've got spiritual growth, fellowship to a degree, and convenience all in one package. Score! Has anyone ever done anything similar to this?

8. I went to Kohl's with my Kohl's bucks (from my new vaccum cleaner--woo hoo) today. My grand out of pocket total was $12.47 with $58 saved. Woo hoo! Then I got some *awesome* deals at Jon Ann's. Out of pocket--$58. Saved $240. I got all my needed gifts (minus the hub's bday gift--ugh) for upcoming events and was stoked about the savings.

9. The mosquitoes are everywhere here. I think all this terrible rain has just beckoned them in. I dread all the bites my poor legs are about to receive.

10. My skin is so dry. Clearly, I'm not drinking enough fluids. I'm a naturally oily skin type (or so Clinique says), but my face is flaky, my legs are flaky and itching, my scalp is flaky, and my lips are so dry they're bleeding. Not fun!

Hope I didn't lose you in my random list of things. I'd love to hear any comments you have on the bible study, Beth Moore books (I've never read anything of hers...), or the best lotion for my flaky skin. Okay, so I'm just looking for social interaction. ;) I don't care WHAT the conversation is about!

I Never Win Anything....til now!

Woo hoo! After years of being in the blogging world, I got my second blog award yesterday from my dear friend Amanda over at Our Life. Here are the instructions:

1. Thank the person who nominated you for this award and link back to their blog.

If you've never read Amanda's blog, you're really missing out on some major cuteness. Little Kate is such a ham and reminds me so much of her mom already! If you'll look, Amanda is the resemblance of "Mom Barbie" in her adorable outfits, heels, and gorgeous curls. If a cute shower or party is thrown, Amanda must have a hand in it somewhere! Above all, SHE IS FUN & fun to be around! She works hard as a nurse, and I'm really looking forward to having her assistance in the hospital with baby number 2! We met back in nursing school; when we realized we'd both been to MS State the previous year, we knew the friendship would last. ;)

2. Pass the award on to 7 other bloggers who have a beautiful blog.

Yikes! Only 7?! Well, I'll try to not pick any of the same ones Amanda did...

Kacie & Judd--How can I not pass an award on to the mom of the cutest niece ever?! Kacie & Judd are in the midst of renovating a house right now with an 8 month old in tow! Head on over to see major cuteness and major renovations!

The Lively Family--I love to read blogs of fellow Christian moms, especially those with boys so I can see what my life will be like in the future! Ginger is raising two handsome young men and always keeps me entertained with Warner's funny stories!

The Dalomba Days
--If you're looking for a blog with a little bit of everything, check out Brittany's blog! She's got yard sale fine, renovations of furniture, recipes, and now...baby stuff! They're expecting their first baby this fall!

Urban Pioneer Women
--This, ladies and gents, is Susie Homemaker made over! She can make anything--seriously. A mattress? Her own sour cream...diapers...diaper covers....clothes...you name it! I always like to check in on Amy's blog to see what she's keeping herself occupied doing...when she's not chasing her two year old and getting ready for baby number 2!

Keeping Up with the Butlers
--Erin & I also date back to nursing school. We have found ourselves to have so much in common; she is one of my best mom friends. We might not talk for months on the phone, but we can always pick up where we left off. Erin is a NICU nurse, SAHM, wife to Murray, and mommy to sweet Cole!

Room for Dessert--If I began writing a paragraph on the reasons I love Hilary, we'd be here all day! Hilary is notorious for her incredible southern qualities--big bonnets on her sweet Juliet, note writing for whatever occasion, and beautiful Sunday table settings! Did I mention she's an incredible woman of faith with one of the hardest working husbands I know? Seriously...go meet her!

The Glenn Gang
--Nicki's blog was one of the first ones I found when I discovered that mom bloggers even existed! Nicki is a woman of God who has two awesome pregnancy stories as a testament to God's faithfulness! Her son, Jonah, and Drew are almost exactly 2 years apart so I always look at Nicki's posts and think about how Drew will be in the same stage 2 years in the future!

3. Notify each blogger of their award nomination.

4. Write 7 things about yourself.

1. I don't go anywhere without toenail polish on my toes. In our 9 years together, Andrew has seen my toenails sans polish only two times.

2. I think I would have really enjoyed living in the 50s as a teenager.

3. I can't dance worth a FLIP. But I love watching professional dancers.

4. I fantasize about my future house with a front porch full of kiddos.

5. As I'm typing this, Drew is pulling all the flatware out of the drawer. And who knows what else.

6. I'm the pickiest eater I know.

7. I love singing in the shower but get scared someone may pull up in my driveway and hear me!

Whew! Thanks again, Amanda! This was fun. Now to go pick up 12 place settings of flatware off the floor..... :)

This & That

-We attended church in Senatobia this past Sunday morning. and my dad was leading singing. Andrew was holding Drew next to me. While we were standing and singing, I looked over at Drew and he was moving his arm to the beat just like his Papaw! Guess we have a future song leader on our hands. I was PROUD.

-I guess Drew thought Andrew had been in the bathroom too long tonight cause he went and beat on the bathroom door with "Brown Bear" to give Andrew. I guess men are naturally born to want reading material.

-Drew is walking around calling for Andrew these days, but not by Dada or Daddy. Nope. He walks around yelling his little version of "Andrew." I love it!

-Drew blew me four kisses last night for the first time. I fell in love with him all over again!

-Just as I thought we had our sleeping issues out of the way, they have reappeared in full force. Drew has decided he no longer wants to go to sleep at night without a fight, wants to be in the bed with us, and does not want to nap longer than an hour. Ahhh! It's making for some long nights, and poor thing is crying to sleep right now. I hate it, but know it's for the best for everyone. He's been in the bed with us the past 2 nights and EVERYONE wakes up still tired the next morning.

-We've finally found a show Drew will watch! Deda bought him Veggie Tales the other week and he's officially addicted. He loves him some Larry & Bob. His favorite is "Love My Lips." We'll be using these on any upcoming car rides longer than an hour! Thanks, Deda!

-I'm consigning some clothing for the first time in a few weeks. I didn't realize quite how much work consigning involves and am now wondering if it's worth it. It DOES get me a shopping pass the night before it opens to the public, so it's worth a shot.

-We have our best friends coming in from Alabama next week, and we are THRILLED to see them again so soon! Can we say cookies and cards? OH YES. See you soon, Greshams!

-Did you notice the poll to the right? I'm just nosy about other people's cleaning habits.

Random Thoughts: Episode 32

1. Our new method of discipline is working rather well, if I say so myself! Thank you all so much for your comments, facebook messages, phone calls, and emails. All....er, most....of them were very much appreciated! ;)

2. I'm working on sewing curtains for my kitchen. I walked into Hancock's fabrics the other day and got this great designer material for only $3/yard because they said it had been misadvertised in their print ad. Score! I got home to realize my window treatment is a very long horizontal one. My fabric is vertical. For all of you out there who haven't pieced that together in your noggins, it means I have to cut fabric, pin it, and stitch it. Then repeat. Repeat. Ad nauseum. I got them all pieced together last night and hemmed the two ends. Now I lack 150 inches of hemming the top of the curtain. THAT could be a while.

3. Kacie is on her way up here right now! (woo hoo). After a majorly bad morning for her, we're both looking forward to doing something fun tonight even though we're not sure what. It can't be our normal "walking around Target and Kohls 'til 10pm" cause we're strapped on funds for such frivolous trips as that. Ideas? We thought we might play around with the sewing machine. Hmmm...A rockin' good time huh?

4. I have my tablescape for the ladies' night at church all ready to go, minus a few little odds and ends. I'm excited for the way it turned out and can't wait to show you all pictures after the big night!

5. At what age do boys find it fun to wear hats? Drew looks soooooooo cute in them (or maybe it's just cause I'm his mom...), but will not keep them on his head long enough for me to even snap a picture. Maybe some Elmer's glue would hold it on...

6. I'm thinking about slimming down my facebook friends list dramatically. Anyone done this? I don't wanna be mean, but honestly these are people I've met maybe 2 times in my life and have nothing in common with them. And let's be honest...they're hogging my homepage with all their junky status updates. (What? You think that about ME? Oh...)

7. We just started watching a new TV series, Flashforward. Anyone else watching? It reminds me a lot of Journeyman which played on NBC a couple of years ago. The thing is-- it makes your brain work to keep up and figure things out and I'm not sure the American public is too keen on thinking while watching television; therefore, I fear they'll end up cutting it now that we're almost caught up on season 1. (Just like they did with Journeyman...)

8. My mind is blank now, but you know how I hate ending a list on an odd number. I feel better now. ;)

Have a great weekend!
