In Retrospect: Look What I Bought This Week

First of all, can I just nauseate everyone for a minute and say that I have the sweetest husband ever? I cannot believe we're at 3 1/2 years of marriage. I still feel like newlyweds! I just love him so much!

So this weekend I went to The Holloways Site and it led me to the Steece Quadruplet's Site. Wow. I think I spent 2-3 hours reading up on this adorable family. Long story short=she went to Harding University, majored in nursing. They got married. At year 3 (?) they decided to try for a baby. She had endometriosis. Used a low dose of Clomid. It worked! She had one set of identical twins, and one set of non identical--all healthy and carried to 30 weeks. One baby (Ben) is home, the other 3 are still in the NICU in TX. Not to mention, they're a really cute couple! So run on over and check them out!

I had my alteration fitting for my dress for "The Wedding" yesterday. It's so pretty! The lady who pinned the dress no doubt knew what she was doing, but she was definitely lacking in the personality department. The only thing she knew how to say was, "Turn. Turn, please. Turn again." Did I mention my shoes I get to wear with the dress? They're patent red leather stilletos. Yep. You read correctly. They're so cute! The dresses have a red sash around the waist, and these shoes match perfectly! They're definitely not the most comfortable shoes I've ever put on, but they rank close to the top in the cuteness category.

This weekend Bonnie, Kacie, and I went shopping for wedding stuff. Mom has been working hard at home to organize things and call vendors, so we figured we'd do our part and buy som of the things on the "still need" list. What a trip. Kacie and Bonnie, I mean. The two of those girls together means get yourself ready to be embarrassed and laugh a lot! We went to Hobby Lobby first where I strayed from the list somewhat, but I had a good excuse! I had a gift card! So I found these lamps at 50% off! I had no choice but to buy them. Stupid me...I forgot to use my gift card at check out! Oh well, guess that gives me another excuse to shop again. :) Here are pictures of the lamps in their new home. Forgive the unmade bed in the last picture. I'm too lazy to make it up. :)

Hobby Lobby and Garden Ridge are out to make boocoodles of money this year. Case in point: they're selling their Christmas merchandise in September! Not just one or two aisles, mind you. Half the store is decorated to the hilt in Christmas decor. Jingle Bells is blaring over the loudspeaker. Walking through the lanes is like walking through a pine tree forest with trees lit up everywhere. Those uber tacky blow up outdoor things are all over the tops of shelves. It was amazing. It's summertime, 95 degrees outside, and a 91% humidity rating...and we're inside surrounded by fake snow, stockings, and ornaments. I must say...they did their job well because we bought a ton of Christmas decor for the wedding. I left in the Christmas spirit, but I lost it when the doors opened and I almost died of heat exhaustion. In memory of the feeling, I'm playing a Christmas song on my playlist. :)

I think I got bitten by the stationary bug because this weekend I found some of the cutest stationary! Some of it (the pink and black) will be used for Kacie's invitations I'm trying to make (my printer is dead--no good), but some of it is just for in case I ever need it. I got sparkly green letters, polka dot envelopes, red and green card/envelope sets, and boldly printed paper.

My last purchase of the weekend was at Pier 1. I've had a gift card there for forever, but I wanted to spend it on something that I really liked. Well, I found 8 placemats yesterday that were so adorable and would go great in my dining room! You can't really tell in the picture, but they have red, green, yellow, brown, and orange in them. So, thanks Tiff for the placemats! :)

Well, this post was going to be about the great time I had with my family this weekend, but it's turned into "Look what I bought this week". Sorry about that. To my family: I had a great time with you this weekend. ;)

Hope you all have a blessed week!
