Bitten

I've been bitten by the Christmas bug. I thought I was holding it at bay, but yesterday I headed to Kohl's to use my awesome 30% off coupon. Oh, Kohls, how I love thee. (Great prices, great merchandise, and you're open after my child goes to bed. Oh and holiday hours extend that even further. *sigh*)

Christmas trees. Christmas music. Holiday candle scents. Wrapping paper. Gift buying. I was hooked. I came home with my bag of gifts and sat them on the table.

That leaves me with my new dilemma: now I have all these gifts to wrap and no tree to put them under. A sane person might suggest putting them in a closet for 2 weeks, but I'm gonna pull the "I have no more closet space" card and pretend like that's true. And then I'm gonna pull the "It's only a week and a half early to put up the tree!" card and act like it's socially acceptable to do so.

That leaves me one question...am I crazy enough to put my tree up this weekend? Well, yes I am. It's only a week and a half early! Not sure if the hubs is going to agree to this. I'll just blame it on the Kohl's Christmas bug.

Stick around. Christmas tree pictures might be coming soon!

I saw someone last night as we were driving home--they had both their tree up and lights up and on on their home! You're not the only one. :) Tell me, are you doing a traditional sized tree? Our little little Peanut is 14 months old and I am leaning hard towards a table top tree this year. :( I am not big on only the top half being decorated and I think the temptation will be too great for a normal sized tree for her. I know you have to teach little ones what is right and wrong, but I am also not big on punishing her every five seconds either! :)

Audrey--I got my coupon in the mail. Yes, I have a Kohl's card. I usually buy the stuff in the store with the coupon and put it on the card (a requirement w/ the coupon) and then come straight home to pay it. If you find something in the store you want, do an online search for kohls coupons (try retailmenot.com) and you can use the coupon that way PLUS get free shipping!

Jackie--Glad I won't be the only one! Maybe I'll leave the blinds closed until Thanksgiving? We're definitely doing a real tree. I totally realize we're going to be digging him out of the branches, but Christmas would not be Christmas at our house without the tree! They have a huge case of plastic decorative balls at Target that I'm looking into buying so that they won't be as apt to break. All breakable ornaments will be out of reach! We'll see if I regret it...
