Updates & 4D Pictures :)

Sorry it's been so long. Life here has been so busy lately! Lemme break it down for you:

-Passed my 3 hour glucose test! (and I think I have permanent nerve injury to my right middle finger from one specific prick--ouch!)

-Got the 4D ultrasound on Saturday. This baby is BEAUTIFUL and has my lips and nose. My dad was especially proud of the nose since I inherited it from him. He has a little hair as well! He slept most of the time, even though I ate sugary pancakes and a coke 30 minutes before go-time. He did manage to stick his tongue out at us, yawn, and get mad when we confirmed once more that he was a boy. :)

-We planted lots of flowers yesterday with the help of Andrew's mom and his brother. The yard looks SO MUCH BETTER. Now if we can just control that weed problem!

-My milky skin hadn't seen sunlight in a year, so of course I roasted yesterday. I'm now walking around the house on my day off with greasy hair, a tank top, and lotiony skin because I have clear blisters! Ouch!

-Pregnancy complaints: The first day of my third trimester brought indigestion with it. Ick. But the worst--the back pain. I hear it only gets worse from here. Ahh!

-This weekend Kacie is throwing me a baby shower. I'm so excited! We'll make sure to take plenty of pictures and post them!

20 Week Pictures

It's a Boy!

Andrew pointing out our baby's manhood. :)

Super excited parents!

Update from the weekend:

-Got an adorable curtain rod and blue gingham finials for baby's room
-Ordered the bedding (not one previously posted on the blog!)
-Shopped for furniture @ BRU and Baby Depot= bummer
-Picked out travel system and playyard
-Bought lined baskets for baby's stuff
-Cleaned out baby's closet
-Put up ceiling fan & new light kit in baby's room
-Picked out a possible name!

Whew! We were busy!

I need advice on cribs. I'm fairly short (5'3") and I'm finding that most of the cribs are stationary (or not a drop down side). Of course no one in the store was willing to drop the mattress down for me to make sure that I can reach the mattress @ its lowest level. I'm well aware that by the time the baby has the lowest level mattress setting, he'll be able to stand and reach. However, if I'm putting him in his crib asleep, that doesn't help me. The people at Baby Depot and BRU didn't seem to understand my dilemma.

So as of now I either want a dark wood (almost black) or white crib with a drop down side. It'd be even nicer if it converted to a toddler bed. Any suggestions from parents out there?

Oh, and I made two posts today, so continue reading down for further enjoyment at my expense. ;)

Ultrasound pictures...

The most adorable foot you've ever seen...that looks crooked.

His face...alienish!

Look at that adorable mouth & nose!

He's not shy!!

We had so much fun with the ultrasound today that it made us rethink having a 4D ultrasound in a few weeks. How fun would that be?!

P.S. This new mommy needs advice on little boys!!

It's A...............

That's right! Mama's little boy is making his big debut in July! Mama nearly had to pick Daddy up off the floor he was so excited!! Everything looked great per the ultrasound tech. No signs of spina bifida, spine fully formed, heart with 4 chambers functioning perfectly, 2 functioning kidneys. Whew! Thank you, Lord, for this beautiful baby boy!!

Ultrasound pictures to come soon...

Introducing...

The love of our lives! *Click to make the pictures larger.* Our ultrasound tech apparently was super busy as she barely had time to explain things and the viewing only lasted 2 1/2 minutes. The good things are: we have two arms with hands, two legs with feet, a brain, a set of voluptuous lips (from his mother), and a very active baby overall (from his daddy--neither of them could sit still throughout the ultrasound- ha!). Andrew was so sweet watching the ultrasound though. He was like a kid in a candy store--so excited to see everything. I just wish it had lasted longer!

Next office visit: Valentine's Day. Sex determination day: February 28th! Boy that day can't come quickly enough. We get to look at the heart that day to make sure all four chambers are fully formed, the spine to rule out a major case of spina bifida, and the brain. I'm contemplating whether to get the testing done at the next appt that tests for Down's Syndrome. I mean, if it's positive and we seek further testing and still get a positive, what are we going to do? Get prepared, I guess. The Lord has blessed us with this child and there's nothing that would cause us to get rid of him/her. Any moms out there have this done? What were your thoughts?

Work starts up again tonight *sigh*. That means I need to get in a nap since I woke up at 5:30 this morning. Hope you all have as awesome of a day as Andrew and I had!
