Jonah at 1 Month

It's crazy to think we've lived in survival mode with this sweet baby boy for a month now! (Actually, 5 weeks tomorrow.) Truthfully, I can hardly remember life without him. We're all adjusting to our new schedules/duties/mandatory quiet times (ha!), and things may be finally starting to fall into place.

Jonah is thriving at 5 weeks old. On 7/8/13, he weighed 12 lbs, 7 oz was 22 1/4 inches long, and had a head circumference of 15 1/2 inches. He'd gained 2 1/2 lbs in a little more than 2 weeks! At one month, he is in 3 month clothes (!!!!) and a size 2 diaper. He is nursing every 2-3 hours and usually gives me one 4 hour stretch at night (whether I watch TV through half of that stretch is possible).

He loves bath time, having his hair washed, his passy (love/hate relationship for me--it falls out ALL THE TIME), being held, snuggle, naps on his stomach on his daddy, staring at random things on the wall, and being carried.

He dislikes being cold after baths, sometimes dislikes a car ride (when the passy falls out--hence, the love/hate), and having his feet messed with.

He wakes in the morning between 8-9:45 and stays up about an hour. Then he wants to go back to sleep, but usually prefers being held for that nap. After that, he's awake for short periods of time in the day and wants to snooze again. Around 6 or 7, he's ready to settle down for the night. His wake times are very minimal after that. He sleeps next to me in the bed and usually does pretty well about going right back to sleep after eating.

He's had some gas issues because I have an overactive letdown which causes him to swallow excess air. Bless his heart. He doesn't usually cry, just kind of whines/fusses. However, his little pains wake him up from his sleep which really stinks.

Our biggest hurdles so far with 3 kids: Lack of quality sleep for mom, getting Jonah to sleep when it's very noisy, keeping Jonah asleep with 2 other kids who randomly scream, etc, and learning to balance doing for the other kids while taking care of the constant needs of a newborn who wants to be held--a lot! ;) It's an adjustment, for sure!

Even though it's taken a lot of adjusting for everyone, we love this little boy and he fits perfectly into our family! I'm pretty sure I kiss his cheeks 1000 times a day! Who wouldn't?!

One of my favorite things about Jonah is that he likes to stare at random things on the wall :) That's awesome. Oh, and that he is beyond precious. That too.
